HOME AND SCHOOL

Happy New Year!  We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.  We wish you all the best in 2017!

Here’s to a quiet start to the new year.  Just few things on our agenda:

GROCERY CARDS: orders are due next Tuesday January 10th.  Purchase $100 cards from either Kings, Fairway, Stop & Shop or Shop Rite for face value, and the HSA makes 5% back on every purchase.  (Fairway increases its percentage as we spend more throughout the year, to as high as 10%.)  Be on the lookout for envelopes going home in backpacks this week.  Questions?  Email Karyn Erb karynamiller@hotmail.com; Amy Marlin amymarlin1@gmail.com;  or Rhonda Marx rhondamarx@gmail.com

BINGO NIGHT:  Save the date!  Friday Jan. 20th, at 7:00pm in Somerville’s auditorium.  Brought to you by our fabulous hosts, Scott Orr and Anthony LoSauro!  ;-)  Will be a fun night for all.  Stay tuned for more details…

WIZARD GAME TICKETS go on sale today!  Look out for an email from the District.  (Ask your son or daughter about the Wizards assembly we had in December with Big Mike.)  Come watch Dr. Oates and Mr. DeRisi play against the big guys!  The game is sure to be a blast. Game date:  Friday January 27, 2017 at 7pm.  Brought to you by Federated HSA.

JANUARY HSA Meeting: Tues. Jan. 17th @ 1:30pm in Dr. Oates’ office.  Mark your calendars.  It’s a great way to catch up on the happenings here at Somerville.

Interested in Helping Bring GIRLS ON THE RUN back to Somerville? Registration begins at the end of January and the season starts in March. Girls on the Run is an after-school program which combines interactive lessons and running to inspire self-respect, self-confidence and healthy lifestyles in young girls. It's open to girls in grades 3-5 and meets twice a week after school, working up to a season-ending 5K run in May. We are looking for two or three Moms or Dads to run it. Any questions, please check out www.gotrnjn.org and contact Melissa Fagersten (GOTR Program Coordinator) at melissa.fagersten@girlsontherun.org or contact Heather Wilke(Somerville mom) at hpaulywilke@yahoo.com

Have a great week!
